Your Cambridge Heritage: A Thousand Years in the life of Cambridge Castle

Alison Taylor was County Archaeologist for 21 years and has been Editor and President of Cambridge Antiquarian Society. Publications include archaeological studies of villages in South Cambridgeshire and Cambridge: the Hidden History. Her talk will look at the strategies behind the development of Cambridge Castle, the roles it played in local and national defence, and its long civilian life.

Your Cambridge Heritage is a series of free lectures hosted by the Friends of St. Giles' Church, given every second Thursday of the month at 11am in St Giles' Church, refreshments from 10.30am. The topics of further lectures in 2018 and other Friends' events can be viewed on their website.
