Dr. Bill Block will be your guide for this evening travel talk and themed supper. Supper (fish pie and a choice of puddings) will be at 7.00 pm followed by the talk and the price will remain at £10. Tickets are available from Margaret Cooper.
Spitsbergen is the largest island of the Svalbard Archipelago and is home to 2,600 people, polar bears, valuable minerals, a burgeoning tourist industry, a University and several research stations. Bill's talk will take us on a circumnavigation of Spitsbergen and also describe what it's like to live and work in this part of the Arctic.
