This monthly working party meets at the Burial Ground (off Huntingdon Road) to clear graves, working under the guidance of Rod Ailes for a couple of hours. Please bring gloves (if you have them) and stout shoes are essential, secateurs, loppers and any garden waste sacks very desirable if you have them. It can also be thirsty work, so do bring a drink as well.
The barbecue is a event to which all Friends are welcome, not just those who have been involved with the working party.
All normal barbecue food (including vegetarian options) and drink will be available. There is no charge.
This will be a good opportunity for those who are not able to take part in the working parties to catch up with what is going on in the burial ground and to meet other Friends. The weather forecasters are predicting that next week end will be dry.
If you are able to come, it would be helpful if you could give a rough idea on numbers by emailing or telephoning C. 368701.
Further dates this year are: 12th October, 16th November and 7th December (followed by mulled wine and mince pies).
The Friends aim to protect and enhance these remarkable burial grounds for the public benefit as a place of remembrance, spirituality, history and nature. You can read more about the Friends and join here. New members are most welcome.
