Mrs. Sylvia Pick
I am the oldest team member, but not the longest in formal ministry; in May 2009 it will be 10 years since I became a Licensed Lay Minister. Most lives are many faceted and so has mine been, and is still. I am a voracious reader, a good cook, an undisciplined gardener, a dressmaker and embroiderer, and a wife, of course (28 years and counting). I have been a teacher (26 years), a choir director, a theatre costumer, vestment maker, Chair of Governors at Park St School and Member of the Diocesan Readers’ Board.
Now I serve on the Council for Ministerial and Adult Learning, organise and plan parish retreats and quiet days, and edit ‘News & Views’ monthly for the parish. I am beginning work with others on a parish banner for Ely 900, and am thinking about revising the guide to St Giles’, which I assembled a few years ago.
