Harvest Community Sunday Lunch

All are welcome to share a delicious, freshly cooked Sunday lunch and friendly company, which will have a Harvest menu this month. Normally this takes place on the first Sunday of each month. Please telephone Richard on 01223 364929 or the Parish Office on 01223 315000 if you wish to book a place. Cost of the lunch is £4 per head.

St. Augustine's Harvest Service

There will be a Traidcraft stall, a collection taken for the Cambridge City Foodbank and Mustard Seed Appeal (debt help) and food donations received for the Foodbank.

St. Luke's Anniversary & Harvest Service

The Rev'd David Thompson will lead this service, which marks the twelfth anniversary of the Local Ecumenical Partnership between the United Reformed Church and the Church of England at St. Luke's.

It will be followed by a Harvest Lunch, at 12.30pm for 1.00 pm. Tickets are available from St. Luke's Office, tel: 01223 311136, at £5 each.

Silver Sunday Afternoon Tea

Cambridgeshire Older People's Enterprise and St. Luke's Church are hosting a Silver Sunday Afternoon Tea - an FREE Afternoon Tea of tasty sandwiches and cake and a fun sociable time with entertainment, a quiz and a raffle. If you know any older people who would enjoy such an event and should be invited, please give their names to Heather Taplin, 01223 311136, who will arrange for a Free ticket. There is a small charge of £2 for other tickets, available at the door.

Your Cambridge Heritage - The Seven Deadly Sins (and a few Lively Virtues)

The medieval Church made much use of imagery to remind the laity of moral and religious teachings. Imagery of the sins and virtues can be particularly illuminating in showing its developing educational techniques.

Friends of the Ascension Burial Ground - Working Party

Location: 
Ascension Burial Ground, All Souls Lane (off Huntingdon Road)

This monthly working party meets at the Burial Ground (off Huntingdon Road) to clear graves, working under the guidance of Rod Ailes. Please bring gloves (if you have them) and stout shoes are essential, secateurs, loppers and any garden waste sacks very desirable if you have them. It can also be thirsty work, so do bring a drink as well. This first autumn meeting will be followed by a barbecue.
