The speaker is Mike Petty, Cambridge Researcher, Lecturer and Historian. Mike is an authority on Cambridge and the fenland, and has written numerous books on Cambridgeshire and the Fens including ‘Vanishing Cambridgeshire’, ‘Memory Lane Ely and the Fens’ and histories of Stretham and other villages. He is a regular contributor to radio and television programmes.

Your Cambridge Heritage - Roman East Anglia

Dr Patrick Cook is a member of the University of Cambridge, Classics Faculty and Christ's College. He has recently been awarded a Cambridge PhD. He is also well known for his participation in University Challenge, a BBC TV programme.
His interests are in the cultural history of the Roman world (broadly defined). Within that wide field, his current research is on the development of Roman discourse of human physical appearance from the first century BCE to the fourth century CE.

Lent Course: What Happens When we Pray?

Does prayer change anything and what do our prayers say about the kind of God we believe in?

This course will run every Thursday evening during March. Each session will involve the presentation of a chapter from John Saxbee’s book What happens when we pray?. There will follow some time praying, seeing if we can put into practice what we have discussed.
