St Giles with St Peter’s

Some parts of St Giles’ date back to 1092. The worship is liberal catholic, in the Anglican Church tradition. The church is kept open whenever possible as a quiet city-centre space for prayer and meditation with a peaceful garden which all are welcome to enjoy.

We share our worship space with the Romanian Orthodox Parish of St John the Evangelist.

St Giles’ welcomes people in for musical events, concerts, conferences, celebrations, commemorations, sales in support of charities, including those supporting homeless people, the annual parish Summer Fair and a Christmas Tree Festival. The garden is variously used for fun days, garden parties and picnics. Please feel free to enjoy this space to eat your lunch if you’re working or passing nearby. Our local schools enjoy worship events and educational visits during term time.

The large open nave has excellent acoustics and flexible seating that make it an ideal space for concerts, talks and social events. You can find information about hiring St Giles’ for your event here.
