Exploring Christianity

‘God, I want to ask you to direct me in my search for truth. Let me find your love, acceptance and peace and recognise that whatever I feel about myself you have the power to remake me. You want me to enjoy life to the full and you want me to be all you created me to be. Amen.’

(Prayer for those seeking God)

There are many ways in which those interested in exploring Christianity can deepen their understanding, whether they attend church or not at present, and at all stages of their life’s journey.

Personally: We welcome you warmly at any of the services in our churches and this will give you a chance to talk to the Christians there about what their faith means to them. You can also talk in confidence to any member of the ministry team – just contact them directly or ring our parish office; we are happy to come and talk to you privately.

Prayer and discussion groups: come to one of the regular groups that meet to pray together, or to study the Bible, or to explore topical matters from a Christian perspective. In addition there are day-time and evening study courses during Lent and Advent, and occasional Quiet Days of study, prayer and fellowship. Click here to find out more.

Websites: There are a number of websites where you can read or request further information about the Christian faith, like https://christianity.org.uk/ Christianity.org offers a place to explore the story of Jesus, pray, discuss, be entertained and discover how Jesus is understood, followed, interpreted and worshipped. It encourages visitors to take a fresh look at Jesus and to make a step or two of faith

Local & Online courses: You can find where a Christianity Explored course is running locally by putting your postcode into the search engine on this website. Similarly, your postcode will lead you to a church nearby that is running an Alpha course.
