By Train into the Sahara
Join well-known local amateur railway photographer and Past President of the Cambridge University Railway Club (and Castle Street steward and organist) Brian Carter as he travels the length and breadth of Morocco by rail. The eleven-day visit was made in October 2023, and included a special train from Oujda southwards into the Sahara Desert, to the town of Bouárfa; this was over the last-remaining section of a planned railway to Timbuktu, only part of which was built.
Entry is free, refreshments will be served afterwards, and there will be the usual baskets for donations in aid of the hall floor renewal fund.
